Role Overview: As a Senior GIS Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing robust Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions that enhance our digital services, particularly those involving spatial data analysis, mapping, and location intelligence. This pivotal role contributes to mission-critical projects aimed at leveraging geospatial technology to solve complex business challenges, driving efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable GIS applications, tools, and databases.
  • Perform advanced spatial analysis, data modeling, and geoprocessing to extract actionable insights from geospatial data.
  • Develop and manage ETL processes for integrating diverse spatial and non-spatial datasets.
  • Create and optimize interactive web maps, dashboards, and data visualizations using GIS platforms and web technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams, data engineers, and business stakeholders to integrate GIS solutions into our products and services.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of geospatial data.
  • Implement and manage GIS infrastructure on cloud platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a GIS Engineer, GIS Developer, or similar role with a strong focus on geospatial software development and data management.
  • Expert proficiency in core GIS software, including Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) or QGIS.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, particularly with GIS libraries (e.g., ArcPy, GDAL/OGR).
  • Proven experience with spatial databases, especially PostGIS (PostgreSQL), and familiarity with others like SQL Server Spatial or Oracle Spatial.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services for geospatial data (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Hands-on experience with web GIS development using libraries/frameworks like Leaflet, OpenLayers, or Mapbox GL JS.
  • Solid understanding of geospatial data formats (e.g., Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, GML, Raster formats) and projections.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
